Intermediaries back international direct commercial property
A survey of UK intermediaries conducted by New Star highlights strong support for international direct commercial property* Ninety nine per cent of intermediaries surveyed recommend exposure to international direct commercial property for moderate risk investors.
New Star says the survey of intermediaries from across the UK* demonstrates the positive high level of sentiment for international direct commercial property.
When asked what proportion of a moderate risk portfolio should be invested in international property just 1% of respondents thought there should be no weighting in international direct commercial property - just four of the 621 responses received.
The highest response was a 5% to 10% weighting (45% of respondents). 30% of respondents thought a portfolio weighting of up to 5% was appropriate, 21% of respondents thought a 10% to 20% weighting was appropriate and 3% of respondents thought a 20% to 30% weighting was appropriate.
Rob Page, Marketing Director, New Star Investment Funds, said: "This research suggests that the overwhelming majority of intermediaries share our belief that this is an attractive asset class in which to be invested offering a broader level of diversification for UK retail investors."
