Law firm Winston & Strawn has hired Michael K. Moyers as a partner in its trusts and estates practice in Chicago. 

Moyers brings nearly two decades of experience in tax and business planning, including estate planning, for individuals, small businesses and families. 

He joins Winston from Levin Schreder & Carey where he was a partner.

Moyers' practice is focused on counseling closely-held businesses and owners regarding succession planning and related tax and legal issues. He also advises high net worth families on a range of fiduciary matters. 

Beyond his law practice, Moyers has spent the past two years organising and managing the startup of a nationally chartered trust company.

Last month, the firm hired Kevin C. Lane, a trusts and estates partner whose practice includes serving several families with a net worth in excess of a billion dollars.
