Performance Trust Investment Advisors, an affiliate company of Performance Trust Capital Partners, has launched its first mutual fund, the Performance Trust Total Return Bond Fund.
The fund is a no-load fund that invests across sectors of the fixed income market using the Performance Trust Total Return methodology.
The fund's objective is to purchase undervalued fixed income assets and achieve investment returns from both interest income and potential capital appreciation, employing a strategy known as Shape Management.
The fund invests in, but is not limited to, government and agency paper, and both agency and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities. In non-agency RMBS, the investment focus is on first lien fixed-rate mortgages in the prime and Alt-A sectors.
Prior to launching the fund, Performance Trust Investment Advisors has been a provider of limited partnership investment strategies in non-agency RMBS. A broader blend of fixed income investments and a mutual fund format makes this investment approach available to a wider audience.
"There has been a growing demand from our banking clients to take our scenario-based total return methodology for the fixed-income market and deliver that proven strategy to their own clients who often are high net worth individuals," says Rich Berg, chief executive officer at Performance Trust Capital Partners. "Offering a fixed income bond fund to the investing public is the natural next step for us following the launch of our limited partnership investment strategies two years ago.”
