Wellesley Investment Advisors hires Bill Feingold as portfolio manager

Wellesley Investment Advisors, a manager of convertible bonds, has hired Bill Feingold as a portfolio manager in its new New York City office.

Feingold is the author of the recent Financial Times Press book Beating the Indexes: Investing in Convertible Bonds to Improve Performance and Reduce Risk.

Greg Miller, co-founder and chief executive of Wellesley Investment Advisors, said, "We're very excited to have a professional of Bill's calibre joining WIA. Bill has a unique background, one that greatly complements our existing professional team. He's been a trader, a portfolio manager, an analyst and perhaps most importantly, a teacher. While Bill's hedge-fund experience deepens our knowledge base, he shares our belief that convertibles are best suited to long-term holders who can exploit their unique risk/reward properties."

Feingold brings two decades of convertible-market experience to WIA. Before joining WIA he was managing director and convertible strategist at BTIG in New York. His previous roles include convertible trader with Goldman Sachs and head of US convertible research with Lehman Brothers. Feingold also has investing experience, having served as portfolio manager with Clinton Group and partner/portfolio manager with FrontPoint Partners.

"I'm thrilled to be joining Wellesley, a firm whose long-term record speaks of commitment to and skill with this remarkably underappreciated asset class," Feingold says.
