Threshold Group appoints Lisa Chin to board of directors
Wealth management firm and family office Threshold Group has appointed Lisa Chin to its board of directors.
Chin (pictured), currently founding executive director of Year Up Puget Sound, is an experienced leader for non-profit organisations and business groups.
"Lisa's experience blends corporate management with extensive philanthropic expertise including impact investing. We are thrilled to add Lisa to our board of directors. She will be a tremendous resource for our board, our client families and our associates," says Tim Cavanaugh, chairman of Threshold's board of directors and managing director at the Seattle-based private equity firm Star Equity Management.
Threshold Group, an independent wealth advisor for families who want to make a difference for future generations, is governed by a board comprised of two Russell family members and three independent appointees. Chin fills a board seat vacated by Ashbridge Investment Management founder Charles B. Grace, Jr, whose term ends this year.
Chin founded Year Up Puget Sound, a one-year, intensive training programme that provides low-income young adults with a combination of hands-on skill development, college credits, and corporate internships. She has led Year Up Puget Sound from the time it opened its doors to the first 27 students to growing to a staff of 35 that serves 160 students each year.
Previously, Chin served as the executive director of Jubilee Women's Center in Seattle, provider of transitional housing for homeless women. She has also been a partner with Social Venture Partners for more than 10 years, including serving as board chair and participating in the K-12 Granting Committee and the Portfolio Granting Committee.
In the corporate world, Chin worked for over 20 years in programme management, most recently for Amazon.com.
