Justin Maloney, Standard Bank

Standard Bank appoints senior portfolio manager

Standard Bank’s international private clients investment division, Melville Douglas, is to be bolstered by the appointment of Justin Maloney as a senior portfolio manager.

Maloney (pictured) will be joining the expanding private clients investment team in the Channel Islands.

Last year the Jersey team integrated with their South African colleagues under the Melville Douglas brand – one of the premier investment offerings in the South African marketplace.

Maloney says: “The long standing Jersey based investment team is ideally placed to take full advantage of the global investment opportunities available to our clients. In particular, with the integrated team we are able to offer a broader wealth of experience in the rapidly expanding African economies at a very interesting time for the continent and potential investors.”

Deon de Klerk, head of international private clients, says: “Justin is a highly qualified and experienced investment professional who has an excellent track record in managing global assets. His wealth management and African experience in particular will be valuable additions to our growing team as we continue to focus on providing a bespoke investment service that responds to our clients’ needs whilst producing excellent returns.”

Prior to joining Standard Bank, Maloney spent three years as a senior investment manager with Four Capital Partners, a UK based boutique asset manager, where he managed global equity funds for South African based clients. Previously he also held portfolio management roles with Artefact Partners, Oakside Capital and Foreign & Colonial Management.
