Ingenious Asset Management appoints Andrew Waldren as COO
Ingenious Asset Management (IAM) has appointed Andrew Waldren to the newly created role of chief operating officer.
With over 20 years’ management and senior management experience in the wealth management and private client industry, Waldren (pictured) will hold overall responsibility for IAM’s investment operations, custodian relationships, project management and ancillary services across all platforms and jurisdictions.
Guy Bowles, chief executive officer at Ingenious Asset Management, says: “As our business continues to evolve and mature, the appointment of a chief operating officer was a natural next step. Andrew will be an intrinsic member of our expanding team, helping us to maintain consistently excellent delivery of our award-winning discretionary investment management services.”
Waldren joins IAM from J Stern & Co, a family backed asset manager, where he joined as COO at start-up, guided the business through regulatory approval and built its operational infrastructure. Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Taylor Young Investment Management, latterly as group COO and UK operations director. Waldren has also held operational positions at the Bank of Butterfield Group, BNP Paribas and Banco Bilbao UK.
Waldren says: “I am delighted to be joining Ingenious Asset Management at this exciting time in the company’s development. As Ingenious Asset Management’s first COO and joining when the firm has over GBP1.4bn in assets under management and 1,500 client mandates, I look forward to improving the existing operational platform as well as working closely with Guy and the board on new projects, to deliver operational efficiency, capability and economies of scale.”
