Anderson Strathern launches Scottish Independence Referendum Advice Service

Anderson Strathern has launched its Scottish Independence Referendum Advice Service, offering legal and regulatory advice to individuals, businesses and the public and voluntary sector on the referendum and the opportunities and challenges that may arise as a result of constitutional change.

Through the work of the firm’s Parliamentary and Public Law Unit and the many specialist lawyers across its legal practice areas, Anderson Strathern is providing informed and strategic legal advice on sector-specific issues, including energy and renewables, finance, insurance and banking, SMEs, public sector, tourism and food and drink.

It also gives advice on topic-specific issues, such as pensions, freedom of information and data protection, citizenship, education, agriculture and fisheries, competition law, health and safety, transport, EU law and broadcasting and communications.

Head of department Fiona Killen says: “Whatever the outcome of the referendum, opportunities and challenges will arise and it is important that individuals, businesses, public bodies and the voluntary sector start thinking now about what position they want to be in, in a future Scotland. Our team of specialists is best placed to provide legal and regulatory advice to inform decisions that are to be made and to plan for the future.”

Anderson Strathern is supporting the service with a series of free events titled “Future Scotland”.
