UK regulatory framework will remain strong even after Brexit, says Rosling King
Brexit need not detrimentally affect the tax, legal and regulatory regimes in the UK, according to law firm Rosling King (RK).
James Walton, partner at RK, says: "The UK is renowned for its high standards in the arena of regulation. The legal framework is regarded as second to none. That is why the jurisdiction of the UK is so highly regarded around the world. Of course, there is a multiplicity of legal issues that Brexit throws up in various areas such as employment law, data transfers and international financial service. However, these issues are not insurmountable and should not undermine the fundamental strength and quality of the UK's legal framework.
"There is a need for stability and continuity whatever the outcome of Brexit. But in the blizzard of opinion and prediction, the foundation of the UK's legal system remains solid."
Rosling King is a sponsor of this year's BVCA Tax, Legal and Regulatory Conference, an annual private equity and venture capital event led by industry practitioners in the legal, tax and Regulatory world. The conference, now in its tenth year, addresses the practical impact of regulatory and taxation changes.
