Wall Street veteran launches Defiant Capital Group
Veteran wealth adviser Jonathan Dane has launched Defiant Capital Group, a boutique asset management firm providing select individuals, families and institutions with strategic investment advice and wealth advisory services.
Dane, who is the Founder and CIO of Defiant Capital Group, has a background as both an investor and research analyst, and in 2019 was named one of CityWire’s Rising Stars Under 40. Dane recently served as the Director of Portfolio Strategy & Research for a USD900 million multi-family office and previously he worked in New York City at Goldman Sachs and Jefferies, and also at PNC in Pittsburgh.
Based in Pittsburgh, Defiant Capital Group provides investment advisory solutions to clients across asset classes and markets, anchored by a rigorous due diligence process. Through the firm’s network of partners which includes family offices, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private equity and real estate firms, Defiant Capital Group finds and analyses unique investment opportunities for clients.
“This is an exciting time to be launching the firm,” says Dane. “Defiant Capital Group is uniquely positioned to help clients navigate this challenging market environment and find strategic investment opportunities. Our background in research and analysis, combined with our experience in structuring investments and constructing portfolios, is a unique skillset that allows us to provide all the capabilities of Wall Street firms, but individualised for clients.”
Regarding the name of the firm, Dane says: “We work with individuals, families and entrepreneurs who by being ‘defiant’ to convention and taking calculated, strategic risks have achieved great success in their lives. Our investment philosophy and differentiated investment and advisory solutions relate with clients and their personal convictions.”
As an additional service, Defiant Capital Group helps clients address many of the complexities of wealth including structuring investments and planning for generational wealth transfers.
