Close Brothers Asset Management appoints Managing Director

Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) has appointed Rob Crawshaw as a Managing Director in its Mayfair office to further its high net worth investment proposition.

Crawshaw, who will take up his new position in the autumn of this year, joins CBAM from Rathbones, where he has been since 2013. He manages a client base across a broad range of portfolios on behalf of private clients and charities. Previous to that he was at Brewin Dolphin as a senior investment analyst. Rob is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds CISI diplomas in derivatives, fund management, and regulation & compliance.

Crawshaw will join Tim West’s team, who joined CBAM in late 2019 to support the growth of the Mayfair office. Headed by Managing Director Andrew Hess, the office now boasts a total of 10 experienced investment professionals and six support staff, managing over GBP1.4 billion on behalf of clients.

Martin Andrew, Chief Executive of Close Brothers Asset Management, says: “At a time of economic uncertainty, clients need to have total confidence in the skills and expertise of their investment managers, especially given the reduced face-to-face interaction caused by the pandemic. That’s why we put quality client service first, and why we are committed to investing in new hires of Rob’s calibre.

“Rob’s experience and enthusiasm for excellence will make him the perfect addition to the strong team in Mayfair, who have been a vital driver of the increase in our managed assets over the last year. He will support the development of the bespoke proposition we offer to high net worth clients.”
