CapGen appoints new investment director and celebrates USD1bn rise in AUM

Capital Generation Partners (CapGen) has appointed Dipankar Shewaram as Investment Director. Shewaram was a Partner at BlueBay Asset Management, and oversaw USD25 billion of assets at Western Asset Management.  

CapGen has increased AUM by USD1 billion since January 2020, through both new client wins and investment performance, to USD3.7 billion. This represents a 38 per cent rise in assets, all through the Covid-19 period.  
 
CapGen recently won the PAM Award for Client Service Quality – UHNW, for the third year running. In May 2021 CapGen completed a full rebrand, launched a new website, and built, designed and moved into a new office in Berkeley Square.

Shewaram has extensive and senior experience of both managing money and working with clients as a Partner at BlueBay Asset Management, as well as at large global asset managers, most notably Western Asset Management, where he was responsible for over USD25 billion of assets. He is also a member of the Investment Committee at Westminster School and a Guest Lecturer on the Strategic Investment Management Executive Education programme at London 2 Business School. Shewaram has a first-class degree in Economics from University College London, and a Masters in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics. He is also a CFA charterholder.
