Trump Promises $5,000 Dividend for Every American If Republicans Win

10 September 2026

President Donald Trump promised to pay US$ 5,000 (the equivalent of R$ 25,500) to every adult American if the Republican party obtains a majority in the House and Senate in the midterm elections in November. The statement was made during a speech at the Republican Party convention in Dallas, Texas, on the night of this Wednesday (9). The American president credited the initiative to the country’s “great economic success.”

“If the Republicans win the House and Senate, I will pay US$ 5,000 to every adult in the USA. I will issue a dividend for every citizen. We will call it ‘The Trump Dividend’ (The Trump Dividend, in loose translation),” he said.

Trump also said that he does not want beneficiaries to spend the amount “in Canada, in China or in Germany” and stressed: “Now, all we have to do is win.”

Official statistics show that there are about 245 million American citizens aged 18 or older, which means that the dividend promised by the president could cost approximately US$ 1.2 trillion.

War and Oil Prices

At the event, Trump also said that oil prices will fall “as soon as the war against Iran ends.” There are, however, no signs of a reduction in hostilities between the United States and Iran, which have resumed exchanging attacks in recent days.

“We are winning the war, we are controlling the Strait of Hormuz,” he said, advocating the renaming of the important maritime route to the “Trump Strait.” “Iran’s leadership will love this. The country is tearing apart, they are the ‘bully’ of the Middle East.”

Still regarding the conflict, Trump reiterated that Tehran cannot have nuclear weapons and minimized criticisms about starting the war, which has already lasted more than six months.

“That happens to me all the time. The guys come up to me: ‘You know I wish you hadn’t started the war with Iran. Gas prices are high.’ I say, ‘Let me ask you a question: can Iran have a nuclear weapon?’ ‘Absolutely not.’ ‘Well, then I am right — I win.’ Okay?”

Besides the oil prices, Trump mentioned the fall in egg prices and in food prices in general, which “are falling rapidly.” The American president also mentioned that there are “more people working today than ever” and that the financial market is “hitting records.” The Republican celebrated Venezuela’s 65 billion barrels of oil added to the American stockpile.
