“The Democrats cannot make that promise because everything would go down the drain immediately, we’d fall into a depression,” said Trump.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said that the U.S. can easily afford his promise to send adult Americans a “$5,000 dividend” if his Republican Party maintains control of Congress after the midterm elections, and that he always keeps his promises.

“I don’t know, but it would be easy if the Republicans win. $5,000 for all adults in the country, and we can easily afford it because we are raising a lot of money,” said Trump to reporters when asked whether Congress would need to approve the $5,000 promise.

“The Democrats cannot make that promise because everything would go down the drain immediately, we’d fall into a depression… I made that promise, and I always keep my promises.”
