Trump on AI Slowdown: Don’t Kill the Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs

15 September 2026

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has again criticized the slowdown in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the morning hours of this Monday, the 14th. “Don’t kill the goose that lays the golden eggs!” he wrote on Truth Social.

According to the Republican, the only reason the boom in the AI sector and data centers is happening is because the U.S. is far ahead of all other countries.

Earlier, he wrote on social media that the AI sector does not need new “protective barriers,” but a president who is “strong and intelligent.”

On Sunday, the CEOs of OpenAI and SpaceXAI endorsed warnings from Anthropic’s head, Dario Amodei, about the risks associated with accelerated AI progress and the need to reinforce safety mechanisms.
