The ballistic missile and drone attacks in three Saudi cities, carried out by Yemen’s Houthi militia, left thirteen civilians injured, the Saudi-led coalition said.
The coalition spokesperson, Turki al-Malki, reported that the attacks, which occurred on Monday the 14th, targeted Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif and left victims with minor and moderate injuries. “Seven houses and two vehicles were also damaged,” he stated.
Al-Malki accused the Houthis of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and said the coalition would take measures to prevent further attacks, exercising the right to self-defense.
The statement came after Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said that Saudi warplanes conducted 54 strikes across five Yemeni provinces in the last 24 hours. Saree warned that the Saudis “would not go without a response.”
Earlier, the Houthis also claimed a missile and drone attack on King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and threatened to expand their operations against the Arab country.
