CNN, MS NOW, and Politico Sue Over White House Veto

21 September 2026

WASHINGTON, September 21 (Reuters) – MS NOW, CNN and Politico announced on Monday that they are filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration to protect their First Amendment rights, following President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would prohibit them from entering the White House grounds.

The three outlets said they notified the government that they were filing suit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and that emergency hearings on the case could take place as early as this week, according to CNN.

White House officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside normal business hours.
