Trump: Russia Loses Control of Diesel Sector, Urges End to the War in Ukraine

22 September 2026

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (Reuters) – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said on Monday that Russia has lost control of its diesel sector and reiterated his call for an end to Moscow’s war against Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, Russia has lost control of its diesel oil sector due to the war with Ukraine. A large number of its diesel refineries have been destroyed and are, at least temporarily, out of operation,” Trump said in a post on social media a day before meeting the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

“This ridiculous and endless war with Ukraine must end.”
