Trump Reaffirms Iran Cannot Possess Nuclear Weapons, Attacks the American Press

27 September 2026

Posts on his Truth Social social network were made before the resumption of speeches at the United Nations General Assembly

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, published on this Saturday (26) messages on the Truth Social network with criticisms of Iran and American news outlets. The posts were made before the resumption of speeches at the United Nations General Assembly this Saturday (26) and after Trump refused an offer from Iran on Friday (25).

In one of the publications, Trump again stated that Tehran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon, reiterating a position he has expressed on several occasions. The statement gains reinforcement after Trump refused, yesterday afternoon (25), a proposal from Iran involving a cease-fire agreement. “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon!!!”, he wrote.

In the other message, Trump attacked the presence of journalists and outlets at the White House and criticized the press which he described as Fake News. Throughout the week, the American president has been targeting channels such as CNN and MSDNC, accusing them of disseminating fake news, arguing that the coverage is biased and that it works against the U.S. government.
