Trump Urges Zelenskiy to Stop Attacking Russian Refineries and Defends New Leader

10 October 2026

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Saturday (10) called for a new leadership in Ukraine, harshly criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and urging Kiev’s leader to stop attacking Russian oil refineries.

“It’s better that he stop this,” Trump told reporters at the White House, a day after saying he had closed a deal allowing Russia to supply diesel to global markets.

“I suggest they choose a new leader capable of closing a deal,” he said, referring to Zelenskiy.
