The Brazilian singer and composer Giulia Be, 27, and lawyer Conor Kennedy, 32, were married during a religious ceremony in Rio de Janeiro this weekend. The husband, the grand-nephew of John F. Kennedy, former president of the United States, became a trending topic on social media because of the ceremony.
In August this year, his name had also been widely discussed online after Russia ordered his arrest, accusing him of acting as a mercenary during the conflict with Ukraine. He was not arrested, but he was included on Russia’s wanted list. He confirmed that in 2022 he participated in the conflict against Ukraine by joining the International Legion of Foreign Fighters.
Conor is the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mary Kennedy, who died in 2012. His father is the nephew of John F. Kennedy, former US president, and had even run as an independent candidate for the presidency of the country. Today, he holds the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services in the government of Donald Trump.
Conor studied at Harvard, majoring in History, Literature and Environment. He also earned a law degree from Georgetown University. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with the singer, but frequently spends seasons between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
