Trump: Greenland Has More Oil Than Anywhere and It Will Be Explored

15 October 2026

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Wednesday that Greenland has more available oil than “practically any land, anywhere in the world,” and added that American companies are preparing to explore it.

In a post on the Truth Social network, Trump also said that the island belonging to Denmark would have a purpose of “security, defense and attack” for Washington, given that any offensive against U.S. territory would have to pass through there.

“Massive explorations of oil, gas and minerals are getting ready to begin in our new and beautiful Greenland! There are experts saying that the amount of readily available oil is larger than in other parts of the world,” the American leader said.

“Even more importantly, the purpose of security in defense and in attack for the United States and for Europe is unmatched. Any future attack on the United States would need to come through Greenland, where our defenses will routinely shoot down drones, missiles and any other form of weapon that has not yet been conceived,” Trump stated.
