Trump and Vance to Announce a $25 Million Fraud Whistleblower Program

21 October 2026

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, and his vice president, JD Vance, are set to announce, on Tuesday the 20th, a US$25 million program to encourage the public to report suspected fraud in the federal government, intensifying an ongoing effort to root out abuse of federal programs and funds.

The program’s announcement is expected to take place during a joint appearance by both in the Oval Office, in the afternoon.

According to the White House, through the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program (WHIP, in the English acronym), any person who submits a report to the fraud.gov website — provided that it leads to a conviction for fraud or to a significant federal enforcement action — may receive up to US$30,000. The Department of Justice will be responsible for administering the program.

Trump has been pursuing a vigorous effort to eliminate fraud across all levels of government. In March, he created a task force on the issue and placed Vance at the helm of the initiative.
