The President of the United States, Donald Trump, posted on Saturday, the 31st, on Truth Social a manipulated image depicting Greenland’s territory transformed into a giant military airstrip with warplanes and a US flag planted.
The image bears the inscription “Welcome to Greenland,” which reads “Welcome to Greenland,” overlaid on the map of the Danish autonomous territory in the Arctic.
The post symbolically revisits the interest Trump has shown in Greenland, a strategically located island rich in mineral resources, whose sovereignty belongs to Denmark.
