Trump says Iran seeks a war deal and downplays election polls

The U.S. President, Donald Trump, stated, while participating in the Pod Force One Podcast, on Monday the 2nd, that Washington has not yet “finished the job” in the war against Iran because Tehran wants to continue talks to reach an agreement, but that Americans may eventually “take more measures” regarding the conflict in the Middle East.

“Iran is failing; we hit the country very hard. We toppled two of the Iranian regimes, but there must be someone to dialogue with. For me, it’s very simple: they cannot have nuclear weapons,” he said.

He added that Iran wants to make an agreement, but warned: “We’ll see.”

Despite the conflict and the closing of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump claimed that oil stocks are at a level higher than those seen before the war began. He also defended the advance in stock markets and the success of the American economy.

Regarding the midterm elections, Trump downplayed the latest polling results suggesting a Democratic victory. “I have never met anyone who was polled for these surveys. At a rally, I asked if anyone had been polled and only two people raised their hands,” he said.

He also mentioned that he will veto everything if the Democrats win the midterm elections and said that it is necessary to protect Elon Musk, should SpaceX “take risks because of the Democrats.”

When asked whether he believes the elections will be secure, Trump replied that no.
