4 May 2026

May 3 (Reuters) – The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, controlled by Russia, in southeastern Ukraine, said on Sunday to the International Atomic Energy Agency that a drone had struck its external radiation monitoring laboratory.

There were no reports of injuries and it is not yet known whether the attack damaged the laboratory, which is located outside the plant’s perimeter, according to the agency.

An IAEA team on site requested access to the laboratory, said Director General Rafael Grossi, reiterating that any attack near nuclear facilities can pose risks to nuclear safety.
