Caetano Veloso and Bethânia Win Best Global Music Album Award

The siblings Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia won on the night of this Sunday, the 1st, the Best Global Music Album prize at the 2026 Grammy Awards. It is the Brazilian singer’s first win at the ceremony and her brother’s third, who previously won in 2000 for the album Livro and in 2001 for the album João Voz e Violão.

The album CAE ? BTH – Caetano and Bethânia Live, recorded during the Caetano & Bethânia tour, surpassed names such as Nigerian rapper Burna Boy, Indian Siddhant Bhatia, Senegalese Youssou N’Dour, the band Shakti, and British artist Anoushka Shankar, in collaboration with Indian musicians Alam Khan and Sarathy Korwar.

The victorious project records the historic tour that began in 2024 and celebrates decades of partnership between the siblings.
