Joseph Ghio

Partner

 Dr. Joseph Ghio is a partner at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, a leading multi-disciplinary Maltese law firm established in 1891, where he co-heads the Financial Services and Aviation Departments. He graduated in 2001 as a Doctor of Laws from the Faculty of Laws of the University of Malta and holds a Masters of Arts in Financial Services from the same university. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners of Malta and sits on the Investment Services Committee of the Institute. Besides advising investment services business and investment funds on doing business from or in Malta, he also acts as a director and company secretary (through Fenlex Corporate Services Ltd) for a number of financial services entities licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority. Dr. Ghio’s other professional memberships include the Camera degli Avvocati of Malta, the International Bar Association, the European Air Law Association and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.

Rosanne Bonnici

 Dr. Rosanne Bonnici is a partner at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, a leading multi-disciplinary Maltese law firm established in 1891, where she heads the Tax Department (recognized as the leading tax law practice in Malta), the Trusts & Foundations Department and the Company Law Department, and co-heads the Financial Services Department. She graduated in 1993 as a Doctor of Laws from the Faculty of Laws of the University of Malta and holds a Master of Arts degree in financial services from the same university. 

 
An experienced tax and finance lawyer practising since 1993, Dr. Bonnici has close to 20 years’ experience in practising tax and financial services law in Malta.  Dr. Bonnici is experienced in financial services, assisting promoters of investment funds and investment services providers doing business in or from Malta, group restructuring, domestic and international taxation, tax efficient cross-border structures, restructuring projects and tax planning structures, corporate law, trusts and foundations, HNWIs.    
 
Dr. Bonnici is a founder member, past Deputy President and Fellow of the Malta Institute of Taxation; an elected council member, Honorary Secretary, member of  Tax Committee of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners; member of the International Fiscal Association, the International Tax Planning Association, the International Bar Association and is the Malta member responsible for Tax for International Lawyer Referral. 
 
She is also a past visiting lecturer in Tax at the University of Malta.
