Investigating investor appetites

Research this week from Dianomi and The Dubs finds that what investors want is very different from what they are offered. Cryptocurrencies and ETFs dominated the investor want list according to the study which measured investor media searches. Interestingly, ESG was not on the top of the list, but it has proved to be such a huge force in investment this year in every other source of data.

This week has seen PIMFA launch its ESG academy for wealth managers, and initiatives from a number of other firms designed to help wealth managers and IFAs achieve that green dream of bringing ESG to their client portfolios without committing the cardinal sin of greenwashing.

We have an In My Opinion this week from Nicky Maan, CEO of Spectrum Markets, who has explored the medium and long-term market trends against the background of the potentially fragile recovery. “I don’t think the situation is as fragile as it appears. Even if there will be a renewed increase in the number of Covid-19 infections or one of its variants, it has been shown that people largely deal with it in quite a disciplined way,” he says.
