An explosion at a bar in the Crans Montana ski resort in the Swiss Alps, in the early hours of this Thursday, the 1st, left dozens dead and more than 100 injured, according to local police.

The explosion, still of unknown origin, happened around 1:30 a.m. (9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the 31st, Brasília time) at Le Constellation bar, a popular spot among tourists, as patrons were celebrating the New Year.

Videos of the moment of the incident show the station engulfed in flames and people screaming.

A support center and a helpline were created for the affected families. Police are to hold a press conference later this morning in Crans-Montana. The city is located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, 40km north of the Matterhorn.
