Iran and Israel Launch Fresh Attacks on the 18th Day of the Middle East War

17 March 2026

Residents of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and of Doha, in Qatar, woke on this Tuesday (17) to the sound of explosions, amid new bombardments carried out by Iran. Meanwhile, Israeli forces launched new attacks against Iran and Lebanon, on the 18th day of the war in the Middle East.

The Israeli military announced a new “wave of large-scale attacks” against Tehran and the continuation of the offensive against Hezbollah positions on Lebanese soil.

Tel Aviv and northern Israel were also targets of attacks on Tuesday, according to the Israeli government.

In Dubai, airspace had to be temporarily closed while air defenses worked to neutralize Iranian projectiles. Iran also struck an oil depot in Fujairah, in the United Arab Emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, also in the United Arab Emirates, a man was killed by shrapnel from a missile that was shot down by air defense. Source: Associated Press.
