Amid the war in the Middle East, Iran released on Tuesday (2) an AI-generated video showing a fight between Christ the Redeemer and the Statue of Liberty.
The content was published by the Iranian Embassy in Tunisia on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: “One front. One fight.” In a separate post, the official profile also wrote: “The victory of faith over imperialism.”
In the images, the Statue of Liberty walks toward Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado, and the two monuments begin a fight. Christ appears delivering punches against the American statue, resisting attempts to be struck, and, at the end, throwing it down the hill, before returning to his original position, with arms outstretched.
The post generated a series of comments from Brazilian X users. Most are jokes and memes, but there are also messages of support for Iran and criticisms of the United States.
The video adds to a series of propaganda pieces — videos and images — that the Iranian government has been sharing on social networks to portray disputes with the United States, amid tensions between the two countries and the diplomatic efforts toward an agreement.
In recent weeks, the negotiations have been stalled by Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, considered unacceptable by Iranian representatives. For Tehran, any peace agreement must apply to all those involved in the conflict.
This time, Iran’s posting also comes on the same day that the administration of United States President Donald Trump threatens to impose new 25% tariffs on Brazilian products.
