Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, told the United Nations that the assassination of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “opens a dangerous Pandora’s box.” Araghchi wrote in a letter to the UN this Sunday, the 1st, that the assassination “constitutes a grave and unprecedented violation of the most fundamental norms that govern relations between States.”
Once again he urged the United Nations and the Security Council to take measures to ensure accountability of the United States and Israel for their role in the assassination.
“Such conduct not only violates the established principles of international law; it imprudently opens a dangerous Pandora’s box, eroding the cornerstone of sovereign equality and the stability of the international system,” he added. Source: Associated Press
