Israeli Forces Cite US Coordination as Iran Targets Ready for Attack

6 May 2026

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF, in English) stated that cooperation and coordination with the United States armed forces are under way in light of the opportunity to “change the regional reality” in what they called a “multifaceted operation,” in a Telegram message on Wednesday, the 6th. The Israeli forces warn that they possess “an additional series of targets ready to be attacked” in Iran.

“We are at maximum alert to resume a broad and powerful campaign that will allow us to consolidate our gains and further weaken the Iranian regime,” the text says.

Besides Iran, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, highlights Israel’s mission to “defend communities, eliminate all types of threats and deepen the dismantling” of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah. “All IDF capabilities are at disposal. Continue the mission to locate the enemy in the area and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure,” the note states.

The message regarding the Middle East conflict comes amid expectations that the United States and Iran will reach a resolution to the war in the region.

However, according to Reuters, an Israeli source said that Israel did not know that the U.S. President Donald Trump was potentially close to an agreement to end the war and that, instead, Tel Aviv was preparing for an escalation of the fighting.
