North Korea condemns US operation as a grave violation of sovereignty

North Korea took a stand on Sunday (the 4th) against the United States’ capture of Maduro.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pyongyang “vehemently condemns the U.S. hegemonic act carried out in Venezuela”, said a spokesperson in a statement released by the official news agency KCNA.

“The incident is yet another example that clearly confirms, once again, the dishonest and brutal nature of the United States,” the statement said. The government of North Korea stated that it regarded this as a “grave violation of sovereignty.”

For decades, Pyongyang has justified its nuclear and missile programs as a means of deterrence against alleged attempts by the United States to change its regime. Furthermore, it has been a vocal supporter of Maduro’s socialist regime in Caracas.
