The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, stated that Islamabad is confident it will achieve significant progress in the negotiations between the United States and Iran, according to a post by Al Jazeera on X, this Tuesday, the 5th. “Efforts have been made to reach a ceasefire and initiate a dialogue,” the minister said, according to the outlet.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani ministry posted on the social network that the country is committed “to dialogue and diplomacy,” highlighting the “facilitator” role in supporting efforts toward a ceasefire in the conflict and in promoting peace in the Gulf region and the Middle East.

Despite optimistic signals, attacks in the region continue. The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said it is currently dealing with missile and drone attacks originating from Iran for the second consecutive day.

In a statement, the ministry confirms that the sounds heard across the country are the result of ongoing ballistic missile interception operations.
