24 January 2026

The Pentagon carried out on Friday, the 23rd, under orders from the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, yet another attack against a vessel in the Western Pacific that would be involved in narcotics trafficking operations, according to the U.S. Southern Command (SouthCom).

“Two narco-terrorists were killed and one survived the attack,” wrote the SouthCom account on X.

The U.S. president, Donald Trump, also broadened threats in the Middle East, stating that he is “watching Iran closely”.

The Pentagon has been sending military assets to the Middle East this week, including a group of aircraft carriers and thousands of soldiers, while Trump indicates that he is keeping open the possibility of attacks on Tehran. Today, Air France-KLM suspended flights in the region amid the tensions.
