MOSCOW, September 8 (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held a one-hour telephone conversation described as ‘constructive and frank’, during which Trump emphasized his wish for the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible, a Kremlin aide said on Tuesday.
The aide, Yuri Ushakov, told reporters that the two discussed the outcome of the recent visit by U.S. peace negotiators to Moscow and Kyiv and stated that Putin had explained to Trump what the United States could do to help bring the conflict to an end.
