Russia Accuses U.S. and Israel of a Dangerous Venture in Iran, Warns of Catastrophe Risk

Russia criticized this Saturday the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and Israel for embarking on a dangerously irresponsible attack on Iran, which, according to Moscow, is plunging the entire Middle East into the abyss.

The United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran, targeting its leadership and plunging the Middle East into a new conflict that, according to Trump, would end a threat to U.S. security and would give the Iranians the chance to overthrow their rulers.

‘Washington and Tel Aviv embarked once again on a dangerous adventure that is rapidly bringing the region to a humanitarian, economic and possibly radiological catastrophe,’ said the Russian Foreign Ministry.

‘By plunging the Middle East into a chasm of uncontrolled escalation, they are, in fact, encouraging countries around the world, especially in the region, to acquire increasingly robust means to counter emerging threats.’

Dmitry Medvedev, vice-president of the powerful Russian Security Council, criticized the U.S. president, Donald Trump, on Saturday for the attack on Iran and questioned Washington’s ability to stay in power, considering the relatively short history of the United States compared with that of Persian civilization.

‘The peacekeeping group is acting again. The negotiations with Iran were merely a facade. Everyone knew that,’ said Medvedev, the former Russian president, in English.

‘So, who has more patience to wait for the sad end of the enemy now? The United States is only 249 years old. The Persian Empire was founded more than 2,500 years ago. Let’s see what happens in about 100 years…’
