Trump: Action in Iran Is a ‘Short Excursion’ That Will End Very Quickly

10 March 2026

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated on Monday the 9th that the country’s action in Iran will be a “short excursion” and that it will be finished very quickly. In a speech to the Republican base, he defended the need to act to “defeat evil,” indicating that the Iranians were two weeks away from possessing nuclear weapons.

The president indicated that he had not yet finished the action in the country, but pointed to a series of damages to the Iranian capacity, such as 80% destruction at the sites that housed missiles.

“We have the strongest military in the world, now everyone understands,” said Trump, reinforcing the “how good our military is.” According to him, the actions in Iran and in Venezuela demonstrated the country’s military capabilities, which “has once again earned respect,” according to the president.

Trump pointed out several times that the country is doing well economically, citing unemployment and the record highs in the stock market. According to him, inflation should not have a large impact from the “rapid action” in Iran.
