Trump Announces $8 Billion Diesel Cost Relief Package for Farmers

20 October 2026

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the Department of Agriculture will launch a new “Harvest Fuel Relief Program,” with $8 billion in support to farmers to offset diesel costs during the harvest season.

In a post on Monday night (the 19th) on Truth Social, Trump said the initiative was made possible with the support of Senator Roger Marshall, whom he called the “leader” in the crafting of the program.

The Republican also pledged that, with his party’s victories in the midterm elections, there will be more resources for rural producers and that fuel prices will fall when the war with Iran ends – which, according to him, will happen “very quickly.”

When addressing the topic of fuel, Trump also recalled that, two weeks earlier, he signed an executive order waiving the off-road use requirement for red-dyed diesel, allowing “tax-free” fueling for farmers, truck drivers, and other consumers. In a critical tone, he accused the Democratic governor of Kansas, Laura Kelly, of refusing to offer relief in the state.

“If you want low-cost diesel fuel in Kansas, you must VOTE FOR TY MASTERSON FOR GOVERNOR,” he wrote, reiterating pressure for voters to choose Republican candidates during the midterm elections, on November 3.
