Trump Becomes Green Lantern in White House AI Video

8 September 2026

The White House published an AI-generated video in which President Donald Trump appears as the Green Lantern superhero, using the character’s ring to symbolize some of the main banners of his administration.

Published on Sunday (6) on official social media, the video begins with Trump in a desert setting. The president raises his hand and the green ring associated with the character begins to glow. Then, a barrier is formed before a crowd of people, in reference to the United States’ border control and immigration policy.

Next, the video shows Trump in front of industrial facilities accompanied by the phrase “American Manufacturing,” referencing the policy of strengthening American production. The piece ends with images of military aircraft and warships, linking the character to the United States’ military might.

The post also uses the familiar Green Lantern oath: “In brightest day, in blackest night…,” ending with the phrase “Green Lantern’s light!”, or “the Green Lantern’s light”.

The choice of the character comes as Lanterns, an HBO series based on the Green Lantern universe, is airing. The fourth episode of the production was released on Sunday (6), a few hours before the White House post. The coincidence was noted by the American press.

The episode also fits into a digital communication strategy adopted by the Trump administration since the start of the second term, with the frequent use of memes and AI-generated images to depict the president and members of the government.

In 2025, the White House published a montage of Trump as Superman during the film’s release.
