Trump Complains About Nobel Peace Prize Snub, Claims to Have Ended Eight Wars

10 October 2026

U.S. President Donald Trump complained in a social media post about not having received the Nobel Peace Prize, which was awarded to South African Navi Pillay, a judge of the International Court of Justice. In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed to have ended eight wars and to be near ending two more, as well as recovering “all Israeli hostages”.

Trump claimed to have won a war in Venezuela, although the South American country has not declared war on any nation. The American also said he had captured the “violent dictator who governed that country so cruelly”, referring to Nicolás Maduro. Regarding the Middle East, the president stated that he prevented the “main state sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran, from obtaining a nuclear weapon”.

In the end, Trump complained that neither he nor the United States were awarded the prize. “however, with all this, I, or the United States of America, did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize. WOW!”

Pillay, who won the prize, jabbed at the American leader this week. In her first speech after being announced as this year’s laureate, she joked that, if she were very applauded, perhaps she would have to share the prize with Trump. The remark references last year’s honoree, Venezuela’s opposition leader María Corina Machado, who presented the American president with her medal.

Yesterday, the 9th, the Trump administration also imposed new and sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), where Pillay serves, as part of its campaign to dismantle the court, which the United States regards as politicized and accuses of trying to prosecute Americans and Israelis unfairly and illegally for alleged war crimes.
