In response to reports about divergences with the general, the president denied a rift in the Army and said that, without an agreement, it will be a “very bad day” for Iran
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Monday (the 23rd), in a post on Truth Social, that the final decision regarding a potential military incursion against Iran rests exclusively with him. The statements were a response to reports according to which the Army General Daniel Caine, known as “Razin”, would be opposed to a military action against the country.
“I would prefer to have an agreement with Iran rather than not having one, but if we do not reach an understanding, it will be a very bad day for that country and, very sadly, for its people,” Trump wrote on the social network.
The president labeled as “100% incorrect” the news that point to divergence of the general and accused the press of spreading “fake news” without citing sources. According to Trump, although Caine prefers to avoid a conflict, he believes that, if the decision to engage militarily is made, the operation would be “easily won.”

In the post, the Republican also stated that the general “knows how to win” and that, if determined, he would lead any action. Trump also reiterated that all information released about a possible war with Iran would be “incorrect and deliberately distorted.”
