The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated on Saturday that he would soon evaluate a new proposal sent by Iran, but has already signaled strong skepticism about the possibility of a deal.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that he “cannot imagine” that the Iranian plan would be acceptable, arguing that the country has still “not paid a large enough price” for its actions over the past decades.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, after weeks of conflict and failed negotiation attempts.
Earlier, Iran’s Vice Minister for International and Legal Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, had already stated that the plan delivered by the Persian country aims to end “permanently” the conflict with the United States, stressing that it is up to the Americans to decide between the diplomatic path or the continuation of the confrontation.
