The United States and NATO are set to reach an understanding about Greenland’s future that will satisfy both sides, said U.S. President Donald Trump at a press conference on Tuesday.
Earlier, Trump had said there was “no turning back” in his aim to control Greenland, refusing to rule out the possibility of taking the Arctic island by force.
“I think we will reach something that NATO will be very happy about and we will be very happy, but we need it for security purposes,” he said, adding that the alliance would not be very strong without the United States.
