The Portland police, in the state of Oregon, United States, said that two people were shot by federal agents on Thursday, the 8th. According to ABC News, the victims were taken to the hospital and, up to the latest update, their health status was still unknown.
According to the police department, Portland officers responded to a welfare call on Thursday afternoon and found a couple – a man and a woman – with “apparent gunshot wounds.” There are no details about what prompted the officers to open fire on the two victims.
According to ABC News, preliminary information indicates that the federal agents involved work for the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and not ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

The officers applied a tourniquet and activated emergency medical services. The two victims of the shooting were taken to a hospital, police said. Their condition is unknown, ABC News reported.
The case comes a day after an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three, a writer and poet. The death, recorded in the same city where George Floyd was killed, sparked a wave of outrage among residents, politicians and local authorities.
The President of the Portland City Council, Elana Pirtle-Guiney, said during a council meeting that Thursday’s shooting occurred on the eastern part of the city and that two Portland residents were injured. “From what we know, both are still alive, and we hope for more positive updates later this afternoon,” she said.
